Enrolment information for Kindyz of Queenwood
Every enrolment requires an enrolment form to be completed and this becomes our legal agreement. We also need identification for your child such as birth certificate or passport and their immunisation records (we can make copies).
Communication
We always endeavour to stay closely in touch with parents about what’s going on at Kindy and the progress children are making. Noticeboards, notices on doors when you arrive and our Facebook page all provide information about current Kindyz events. Regular newsletters, reports and questionnaires are all placed in each child’s individually named ‘pouch’ in each centre. We also have parent evenings which give us all a more formal opportunity to discuss your child’s progress. Of course, all our teachers are always available for a chat when you’re dropping off or picking up your children or at any other time that suits.
Signing In
We have sign-in sheets near the main entrance of each centre and ask that you please sign your child in and out of each session.
Meal Times
Please provide for your child each day sufficient food and drinks in:
- a clearly named lunch box
- a named drink bottle and/or named bottles
Kitchen facilities are available to refrigerate food or for the teachers to heat food as required. Our teachers will assist children to ensure they’re fully nourished throughout the day. Clothing
Please pack a change of clothing each day in case the unfortunate happens. It also helps please if all items of clothing are clearly named (including shoes and socks). During the warmer months please include a sunhat.
Sleeping
Children who need to sleep at kindy have their own cot or an individual stretcher bed and clean, hygienic bedding to sleep on. We welcome favourite toys and cuddlies from home to help children settle. A soothing atmosphere is created through gentle music and calming support from our teachers. Individual routines are always developed in consultation with you.
Nappies and Toilet Training
We provide all nappies for children while they’re at kindy, if required. If you prefer a different brand to what we provide you’re welcome to supply these for us to use. We’re also very happy to assist with toilet training and we’ll listen to you and consult so we can best help.
Sun Safety
We ensure all children wear sunhats and have adequate sun protection when outside during the warmer months. We ask that you please apply sunscreen to your child before kindy and our teachers will re-apply during the day as necessary. We provide sunscreen unless you have your own sunscreen preference.
Excursions
We regularly go on fun excursions for which we ask for signed permission from parents. In addition, we may ask for parents’ help to meet our required adult-to-child ratios and to help us with transport, where all children are required to be restrained in an approved car seat.
Smoke and Vape Free
As you might expect, all our centres are smoke and vape free including the car parking areas please.
Privacy
We collect limited personal information from you including your names and contact details, and information required to complete your enrolment, such your child’s details, emergency contact details and other information required by the Ministry of Education. We only collect your personal information in order to enrol your child in our early childhood education centres. We do not share this information with third parties without your consent.
You have the right to ask for a copy of any personal information we hold about you, and to ask for it to be corrected if you think it is wrong.
